I spend much of my life wrapped up in the intricacies of computer software – pushing the boundaries of automating the process of creating software. I’m the Chief Technologist of AppVenture, I write about computer programming, and I speak around the US and internationally. Beyond that I enjoy hiking with my dog Io, and a little gardening although the weeds tend to win. I’m also a member of Foothills Unitarian and enjoy the background task of letting people hear other people as part of the sound crew. When I was 48 I began playing the violin, and my family is immensely grateful that my second violin is a silent violin. For me, the trip to Nepal is a step out of my normal routine, and into a quite different space – with old friends and new friends. It’s a way to reach out and in at the same time, touching others lives while going on a mighty big adventure.
